Elaine and I visited the newly revamped and reopened Portland Art Museum. The past couple of years the museum had been partially closed to add an additional 100,000 square feet. It certainly is an improvement to the facility in any and all definitions.

My camera in hand, I took a walk on a rainy late autumn day down to Westmoreland Park in southeast Portland. How I love a cool, foggy, drizzly day! The park was filled as usual with ducks and flowers and moss and a million other types of greenery.

Sunset at Rocky Butte

In northeast Portland, there is a nice viewpoint at Rocky Butte Natural Area. The park covers the remains of an extinct volcano and gives you — on clear days — a nice view of several more volcanoes, both extinct (e.g., Mount Tabor, Pilot Butte, etc.) and active (e.g., Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens).
