Portland Insectarium, August 2023
Update 2024: they have moved to a new location. Please check their website if you are in Portland and planning a visit.
In the neighborhood of Sellwood, Oregon, is the one-room Portland Insectarium, a little museum/zoo dedicated to bettering our understanding of insects and spiders. This place is cool and educational, well worth your time if you find yourself in southeast Portland and are interested in the amazing world of bugs! My daughter and I definitely learned a lot on our visit there. While most of the animals are enclosed in their terrariums, quite a few are available for close-up or even hands-on interaction.
These images were shot by me with a Canon 6D and a 100mm 2.8 lens.
