Maryhill Museum of Art, November 2020

2020 has been quite a year. Pandemics, lockdowns, elections, oh my. On one of the handful of times of the entire year (not exaggerating) when I went out of the house to do something other than go to a market or similar, I ventured out with Elaine beyond the eastern end of the Columbia River Gorge for the Maryhill Museum of Art. This wonderful little museum is located, let’s be honest, in the glorious middle of nowhere, half an hour east of The Dalles (and just under two hours from my house). It sits up on a grassy cliff on the Washington side of the Columbia overlooking the beauty of the river and central Oregon. Serenity now! It really was an oasis of calm in the tumult of this year. Plus, it features over 80 works of art by Auguste Rodin and an outdoor sculpture garden.

See all my posts from Maryhill.

Nice person in Portland, Oregon, and beyond.
