Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest '22
Springtime in western Oregon means it’s time to return to the fabulous Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest outside of the town of Woodburn, not far from Canby. There you can find fields of spectacular tulips, as well as food carts and shops set up in tents. You won’t be disappointed! This year we find ourselves in one of the all-time coolest and wettest Aprils on record for this part of the country, so dress accordingly.
We arrived in the early morning and the weather was unpleasant even for me, with ice-cold winds blasting the drizzling air in our faces; conditions however rapidly improved within a few minutes, as the sun began poking itself out of the dark overcast sky and warming things up. Amazing what a difference that can make.
