One of East Portland’s best spots without a doubt is Leach Botanical Garden. Full of ever-changing greenery, particularly from across the Pacific Northwest, you can find the garden on SE Claybourne Street, just a little off SE Foster Road and north of Mount Scott. I had a day off; so I masked up, grabbed my camera, and headed over to see all the great new renovations to the garden they have been working on. With all of the foliage, it is never the same visit twice to the garden, as it is always changing rapidly as the seasons progress, but this was something altogether more significant: the entire upper area of the garden has been completely redone, including a wonderful new raised walkway that takes you into the tree canopy for a new perspective on everything. I loved it, and it is only going to improve as the areas cleared out a bit for the construction grow back in with maturing plants.
Nice person in Portland, Oregon, and beyond.
