Wilkeson, Washington
You can find the town of Wilkeson, Washington, northeast of Mount Rainier National Park, on the road to its Carbon River Trail entrance. The town is nestled among the forest-covered foothills of the great mountain and has preserved the picturesque but strangely angled buildings of its small main street. I visited in September 2021 as a part of my “Trail of Trails” tour for Travel Tacoma, and inhaled some wood-fired pizza at the Carlson Block restaurant and homemade rhubarb soda at the nearby Simple Goodness Soda Shop.
See all my Tacoma posts.
Nice person in Portland, Oregon, and beyond.
