Little Guillaume Paré. I took his portrait before he was even born (I shot with his maman when she was pregnant). And I took his portrait when he was a few days old.
And now I've worked with him at a few days past one year old. A sweet, happy boy and fun to photograph.
None of these images is edited. I shot with a Canon 6D and a 80mm 1.2 lens.

Friend, wonderfully talented photographer, and sometime model Myles Katherine shot with me this past Saturday in Portland's Laurelhurst Park. The air was like summer, and everything was lush and green and fragrant and blooming blooming blooming.
Actress/model/comedian/multi-talent Laura Welsh and I shot together September 25, 2016, at the Milwaukie Riverfront Park. The sun was blasting like July, so I had fun overexposing the shots a little with my 50mm 1.4 lens. No shot was edited except for one that was cropped to a square.
Professional welder Nate Bowman and I shot together by Portland's Broadway Bridge in January 2017. It had been a long time since I was able to shoot some welding, so it was great fun to re-learn the basics of getting good shots with that much variation of light. Can't wait for the next opportunity to shoot with him! What's more fun that sparks of fire? Not much...

In January 2016 I visited the Portland studio of Aaron Draplin. He's created amazing logos and other work for bands, brands, and even the President. Perhaps his most famous creations are the Field Notes notebooks; you use 'em and love 'em. When he enters a room, it's like a boulder bounding through. He's a big personality with an ever-present glimmer in the eye. And more importantly, he's a dedicated, focused lover of his craft.
