Downtown Portland on the first day of summer

Summer has begun in 2024 here in Portland, Oregon, with a warm, sunny day. So I took the day off work and headed downtown with my Leica T (L-mount) rangefinder camera to take some snapshots and then meet Elaine for a visit to the Portland Art Museum. A lovely day!

Photos were shot with the Leica 23 lens. (The photo of the Hawthorne Bridge and Mount Hood was shot with my iPhone.)

Lakes around Mount Hood, Sept 2016

After a tough week with a very, very tough photoshoot at a hospital, I took a day off to just grab my swimming trunks and head off to some of the fabulous lakes south of Mount Hood in Oregon. By the time I arrived, a lovely morning fog had burned off and bright sunshine warmed the air. I hit Trillium Lake, Little Crater Lake, and Timothy Lake in Clackamas County, and briefly Clear Lake in Wasco County...

Glorious Sunset, Portland

I was sitting on my balcony with my kids as the sky grew darker with the setting of the sun, and a ruffly smattering of clouds rolled over our heads like a blanket. I glanced up and thought the day was finished and night was upon us. Instead, the last rays of the sun from beyond the horizon suddenly began bouncing off the clouds (causing me to grab my camera) and what followed was my favorite sunset ever in Portland. Breathtaking, with all the colors of the rainbow dancing overhead like our own Oregon aurora...
