Each season at the Leach Botanical Garden in eastern Portland is a new adventure with new colors, new sights and sounds, but my favorite is springtime, when the first flowers appear and everything is deep, bright green. The garden underwent a major renovation over the past few years, but all is finished now. Go and appreciate this peaceful urban oasis full of tree-lined trails overlooking a gentle stretch of Johnson Creek, as well as a raised walkway in the forest canopy.

One of East Portland’s best spots without a doubt is Leach Botanical Garden. Full of ever-changing greenery, particularly from across the Pacific Northwest, you can find it on SE Claybourne Street, just a little off SE Foster Road and north of Mount Scott.
