Ashford Lodge, Washington
At the base of Mount Rainier, beside the Nisqually entrance to the national park, is the little community of Ashford, Washington. I visited in September 2021 as a part of a “trail of trails” itinerary for Travel Tacoma and stayed at the Ashford Lodge and feasted at the Copper Creek Inn. An oasis at the base of the mountain! It was a great time to visit because things were not too busy, but the weather was still wonderfully summery.
