Trails Above Paradise
Paradise is a very well named spot on the side side of Mount Rainier National Park in Washington. There is a visitor center (with a gift shop), a hotel, and numerous hiking trails. The parking area is big but does fill up; so keep an eye on traffic signs and try to come early in the day. In September 2021, I explored the Skyline trail and Waterfall trail as a part of my “Trail of Trails” itinerary for Travel Tacoma and Visit Rainier. The weather was perfect without a cloud in the sky, not even on the mountaintop, and the leaves, particularly on the myrtles, were all changing into their autumnal glory. Always a spectacular location, and it never disappoints.
The trails around Paradise are mostly paved and all very well maintained. People in wheelchairs can access many of the trail areas.
