Day Trip to Astoria, Oregon
In September 2018, Elaine Schimek and I took a day trip to Astoria, Oregon. Founded as a trading post in 1811, Astoria is one of the oldest American settlements in the West, and today has become a charming town situated on the hills above the Columbia River as it enters the Pacific Ocean. (Yes, fans of the film Goonies will recognize many locations.)
On the way to and fro, we crossed the fabulous St. Johns Bridge in North Portland, and since Elaine was driving, I was able to grab some quick shots.
