In spring 2018, Elaine Schimek and I had fun exploring Tacoma, Washington, including the jaw-dropping car museum known as the LeMay Collections at Marymount. Don’t confuse this place with its sister museum, the LeMay – America’s Car Museum in downtown Tacoma; this one is located a few miles south of downtown on the site of a former nun-run military school for boys. The collections here include about 1,500 cars plus trucks, motorcycles, and other forms of transportation. Additionally, there are some really lovely neon signs on display. (And did I mention a sculpture garden? And an antique doll collection? And antique radios and telephones? And antique farm equipment? And… more. You’ll just have to see it for yourself!)

Two of the most recognizable roofs in the entire Tacoma, Washington, area sit side by side right off the I-5 freeway: the massive concrete hemisphere of the Tacoma Dome (the world's largest wooden dome) and the shining silver semicylinder of the LeMay: America's Car Museum or ACM. I toured the ACM in June 2017 with Travel Tacoma. The beautiful space holds about 300 cars and trucks in 165,000 square feet...
