Mount Nemrut, Turkey
Spectacular Mount Nemrut at sunset, I went there during my Come See Turkey influencer trip and I was overwhelmed by the beauty and history of the site, and the awe-inspiring views from all sides.
Named after the Biblical hero Nimrod, the mountain is topped by a statue-lined tomb of the ancient rulers of Commagene. The tomb was built over two thousand years ago before the Romans. Our guide said the site was chosen by King Antiochus so that his grave could be the first thing in the kingdom that caught the rays of sunlight in the morning, and the last thing to catch them at sunset. Ah, the ego of monarchs! But such beauty.
