Sarah, April 2016
in April 2016, future Patagonia and Norway resident Sarah Bethea and I shot together in downtown Portland. It was another absolutely perfect afternoon with warm, bright sun bringing large crowds everywhere downtown.
Back to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest 2016
It was a gloriously sunny morning in April 2016, so it was a good idea to return to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn, Oregon. We arrived a little after sunrise; a thick fog was still there, though burning off quickly, and four hot air balloons were landing and taking off among the tulips. You couldn't ask for anything more lovely.
Dinner at the Enchantment Resort, Sedona
In March 2016 I had a quick trip to Sedona, Arizona, to take pics for Visit Sedona. One evening for dinner we stopped at the Enchantment Resort, just outside of town in a secluded valley. Isolated in the best way, you feel like you have your own little Sedona world.
Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest 2016
In March 2016 the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm opened its annual tulip fest, where you can walk among the flowers in all their dazzling glory. So many colors. So intense, so beautiful. One of the best places in the Pacific Northwest.
Sedona Mountain Views
In March 2016 I had a quick trip to Sedona, Arizona, to take pics for Visit Sedona. Below are general images of the gorgeous, red-rocked mountains surrounding the city.
L'Auberge, Sedona
In March 2016 I had a quick trip to Sedona, Arizona, to take pics for Visit Sedona. I stopped for lunch at the L'Auberge resort, a little oasis of calm right in the middle of town. Their Cress restaurant is a lovely, relaxing spot along Oak Creek with ducks, squirrels, and amazingly for the desert location, a lot of trees. Definitely I would return here on my next trip through Sedona.
Tonto National Monument, Arizona
In March 2016 I had a quick trip to Sedona, Arizona, to take pics for Visit Sedona. After Sedona, I swung by the Tonto National Monument above Lake Roosevelt. It's a stunning site, where 800 years ago people created villages into the cliffsides. You can still tour one of the dwelling spaces at the top of a trail that winds through gorgeous cacti and wildflowers.
Slide Rock State Park, Sedona
In March 2016 I had a quick trip to Sedona, Arizona, to take pics for Visit Sedona. Between scheduled stops we visited Slide Rock State Park, a little north of town. It has an amazing natural water slide where Oak Creek cuts through a narrow canyon of bright red rock. Also, the sides of the canyon form a sort of amphitheater where people can sit and watch the swimmers (sliders) go past them.
Sedona Mountain Bike Festival, 2016
In March 2016 I had a quick trip to Sedona, Arizona, to take pics for Visit Sedona. One destination was the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival. You could ride all your favorite mountain bike brands in the trails around Posse Park. Really exciting. And a perfect winter's day there, warm and clear.
Central Washington, Feb 2016
In February of 2016, I traveled through the central area of Washington state, with stops in Yelm, Olympia, Snoqualmie, Roslyn, Leavenworth, Kelso, Vader, and more.
