San Angelo, Texas

In October 2018, I traveled to San Angelo, Texas, for a conference for LiveWhale software. I’ve been to a good number of places in Texas, but the state is so big, there is always more to see. San Angelo was a fun, little cowtown… or rather sheeptown: the area is famous for its wool production (though it has been hurt by a long drought) and has decorated sheep statues throughout town. Here’s a map of them! There’s also an historic downtown area, which includes restaurants, bars, shops, a boot factory, a bordello museum, and a lovely, relaxing waterfront park along the Concho River. While in town, I stopped at Angelo State University, Fort Concho (which is like stepping back into the 1860s), and the International Water Lily Collection (on its last day before closing for the winter!).

All photos are taken with an iPhone 7 Plus.

Nice person in Portland, Oregon, and beyond.
