Last week I went to Philadelphia for a conference. I didn't have a ton of time to shoot, but I did manage to have a little fun with my iPhone as I traveled from place to place in town. This winter before some shoots in Sedona, I traveled up the Arizona Route 60 highway through the Pinal mountains between Superior and Miami (pronounced "My Amma"). With the altitude the desert there in the Tonto National Forest can get more moisture than the valleys and so it bursts full of life. It is a rugged, rocky area, home I'm told to some of the world's largest tin and copper deposits.
On day 4 of my wonderfully packed visit to Iceland for Canopy by Hilton, we took a relaxing soak in the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa then ate lunch at their terrific restaurant before finally heading to the nearby airport. The perfect way to say farewell to this place. The spa is an oasis of modern luxury sitting alone in stark fields of black lava rock. The lagoon pool itself has a soft floor of what I assume is pulverized rock, and the water is sky blue. When we were there, the air was a hair above freezing; so clouds of steamy fog rose from the water and swirled in the breeze. Breathtakingly beautiful...

In December 2015, I traveled to Venice, Italy, for a few shoots and a lot of R&R. One quick shoot was at the dazzling Palazzetto Pisani, which is a hotel on the Grand Canal, across from the Guggenheim and the Accademia. What a place! I felt like I'd stepped right into the Italy of E.M. Forster or Henry James.
