The hot air balloons are back in Albany for the Northwest Art & Air Festival! So, that means I am back in Albany at 6:45am with my neck craning up towards the sky, staring at all the beauty. Last time I visited, the air was full of smoke from forest fires. I am very thankful that this year in Oregon, the summer has been mellow and there are few fires for once.

At the end of 2016, I took a quick trip to North and Upper North Falls in Oregon's Silver Falls State Park. In a state filled with incredible waterfalls, these two are among my very favorite. In August 2017, we visited the Northwest Art & Air Festival in Albany, Oregon. The event started at Timber Linn Park with 35 hot air balloons slowly taking to the sky at 6:45am. The colors and the sounds were amazing fun. The sky was a hazy brown due to forest fires in the Cascade Mountains nearby (here's hoping no one gets hurt or loses their home!), but it made for a lovely sunrise at least.
