Rainier Day 1: Lunch at Wildberry Restaurant, Ashford

On our last stop before entering the Mount Rainier National Park, we pulled over for lunch outdoors at a lovely roadside cafe called Wildberry. It offers "authentic Sherpa-Himalayan Cuisine of Nepal" and has a big outdoor seating area. I most enjoyed the sunlit prayer flags fluttering in summer breeze. Our morning fog was finally burning off.

Dinner at the Enchantment Resort, Sedona

In March 2016 I had a quick trip to Sedona, Arizona, to take pics for Visit Sedona. One evening for dinner we stopped at the Enchantment Resort, just outside of town in a secluded valley. Isolated in the best way, you feel like you have your own little Sedona world.

L'Auberge, Sedona

In March 2016 I had a quick trip to Sedona, Arizona, to take pics for Visit Sedona. I stopped for lunch at the L'Auberge resort, a little oasis of calm right in the middle of town. Their Cress restaurant is a lovely, relaxing spot along Oak Creek with ducks, squirrels, and amazingly for the desert location, a lot of trees. Definitely I would return here on my next trip through Sedona.

Venice: Caffè Lavena

Venice, Italy, has many great cafes. One of my favorites is Caffè Lavena, mere steps away from San Marco's basilica in that glorious piazza. It opened in 1750(!) and looks much like it did in the 19th century. The mirrors along the walls were especially beautiful to me. A plaque on the wall explains Richard Wagner used to drink here.
