Model Mari Stenger and I worked together in July 2017 at Willamette Mission State Park to do a portrait session based around a Lana Del Rey vibe. Mari totally nailed it, as she has that same classic Hollywood look about her, and is a real natural at modeling. A joy to shoot together! Here's the first of a couple of blog posts about it.

Winter Hike in Champoeg, Oregon

In early February 2017, on a very cold, wet winter's day, I hiked around the Champoeg State Heritage Area outside of Butteville, Oregon. Champoeg (pronounced like "shampooey") was an important settlement in the 19th century and in 1843 formed an early regional government, a key step for the area eventually becoming a state. Today the former townsite is merely a field, but the surrounding 600 or so acres have become a park with forested trails easing along the Willamette River....

I found some expired 400 film from the 1990s and shot model Mari Stenger with my trusty Canon AE-1. We were in the Willamette Mission State Park near Salem, Oregon, and attempting a Lana Del Rey vibe...
