Opening Day at the AC Hotel Portland
I was invited to the opening of the new AC Hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon. They built it in what was a funny old vacant lot that everyone just used as a shortcut at a busy intersection. Portland, Oregon, is full of great creative people. Singer Eve Connell is one of them. In February 2017 we shot together at Sellwood Riverfront Park in southeast Portland. With her charm and fearlessness, she's like our town's own Mary Tyler Moore. It was fun to capture some of that spirit.
Tulips in My Kitchen
The best part of late winter is tulips begin appearing. They are one of my favorite flowers, though they aren't around for as long as I'd like them to be. (Roses, for instance, can hang around this area for half the year.) But because of that tulips symbolize the return of spring to me. New life is here, and many other flowers will soon appear as well. Oh, and the amazing Wooden Shoe tulip farm will soon open. Can't wait for that!
